Ashden’s Let’s Go Zero campaign has been awarded Green Project of the Year at the 2025 Education Property Awards. As a core funder of this initiative, Green Future Investments Ltd (GFIL) is proud to see this recognition highlight the campaign’s vital role in equipping schools to cut emissions and take meaningful, measurable steps toward achieving net zero by 2030.
This national award honours the extraordinary progress being made across thousands of schools and marks a powerful milestone in scaling impactful, community-driven climate action.
“Our campaign is about collaboration and empowering schools to take action. Together, we can inspire the next generation and prove that meaningful change is possible,” said Alex Green, Head of Let’s Go Zero.

Scaling a Movement for Sustainable Schools
The partnership between GFIL and Ashden’s Let’s Go Zero has delivered a significant and far-reaching impact. Let’s Go Zero has become the UK’s largest and most effective school climate action campaign—engaging over 5,700 schools, reaching 2 million students, and supporting more than 302,000 staff nationwide.
The campaign has built a national network of expert Climate Action Advisors who provide direct support to schools. This includes tailored climate action plans, energy audits, access to funding, and hands-on guidance delivered both in person and remotely. To date, over 3,400 schools have received customised support, enabling them to cut energy usage, lower operational costs, and integrate sustainability into their learning environments.
Demonstrated Results and Lasting Impact
Let’s Go Zero has delivered over 82,000 tonnes of CO₂ reductions the equivalent of more than 266,000 transatlantic flights. Success stories range from inner-city academies installing solar panels to rural schools pioneering cycling-to-school schemes, which have cut energy usage by up to 10%. At its heart, Let’s Go Zero is building greener schools and nurturing a new generation of sustainability leaders.

A Shared Mission for Impact
At GFIL, we are committed to supporting innovative solutions that enhance climate and community resilience. Let’s Go Zero is delivering measurable, scalable impact.
We’re proud to stand alongside Ashden and thousands of schools nationwide to ensure the UK’s education system leads by example in tackling the climate crisis. Together, we are building a healthier, more resilient education system and a generation ready to lead the future.
